Service Opportunity: Keller Community Storehouse
Our children's ministry is leading the way toward providing food and resources for kids in Keller. The Community Storehouse in Keller has run out of food, and we want to help them restock.
Here's some info from the Storehouse:
20% to 25% of the children living in Keller and Northwest ISD are living below the poverty line. Many of these children, who rely on the schools to provide them with meals during the week, show up to class Monday morning hungry. The Community Storehouse has partnered with some of the local schools to send home “snack packs” filled with child-friendly, healthy snacks on Fridays in an effort to prevent this from occurring.
So here's what we're collecting:
- granola bars
- cereal bars
- cheese crackers
- peanut butter crackers
- fruit snacks
- pretzels
- trail mix
- dried fruit
- beef jerky
- Pop Tarts
- fruit cups
- pudding cups
- any other non-perishable, child-friendly snack
You can bring your donations to church with you any Sunday through the month of September.
